Back to normal - - that's the word. This was by no means a scorching week for transaction filings at the FCC, but the stream was steady after an week of almost total invisibility. And TV was back in the mix. The action was fueled mainly, though, by a string of FM singleton sales in places like Las Vegas, New Orleans, Albany, Boise, State College and Bangor.

Tallahassee makes a group out of SBCofS
That's the Southern Broadcast Corporation of Sarasota, which owns a station in the southern end of the Tampa market. It's paying 12M to enter with Tallahassee market with ABC WTXL-TV. The seller is Media Venture Management.


Radio Deal of the Week
Simmons: Have screwdriver, will duopolize
Simmons Media Group is moving into Las Vegas in more ways than one. It's spending 8M for KADD-FM Laughlin and its CP to upgrade to a new stick in Logandale NV, and it already owns KZHK-FM St George UT and its CP to upgrade to a new stick in Bunkerville NV.
