Mason, Joyner swap stations in Detroit

Two of the biggest names in Detroit radio - - Radio One/Reach Media's Tom Joyner and longtime Detroit Urban morning star John Mason - - will likely be swapping broadcast seats before the month is out. Radio One may be adding another Joyner affiliation "before the month is out," according to The Detroit Free Press. The move would be from Clear Channel's WMXD-FM to Radio One's WDMK-FM. Mason has reportedly been asked to shift to another time period on WDMK or mornings at sister Radio One Detroit station WDTJ, where he would unseat Radio One's Russ Parr. WMXD added ABC Radio Networks' syndicated afternoon talker Michael Baisden this week as well.

DC Talker Michael Graham protest outside Newsweek offices

Concerned listeners to the Michael Graham Show on WMAL-AM DC gathered outside the main entrance of the Washington Post/Newsweek offices DC yesterday from 5-6pm to demand accountability from the media giant for their handling of the bogus "Koran in the Toilet" story. Graham will join his listeners outside the Washington Post's corporate offices for a "Heads Must Roll" rally, demanding that the Washington Post/Newsweek hold themselves to the same standards they demand from those they cover. "Watching and reading the media log-rolling from Newsweek's so-called 'competitors,' it's obvious nobody else is going to hold Newsweek responsible for the damage they've done to America and our efforts to promote freedom and democracy abroad," Graham said." Graham's show airs weekdays 9am-11:45am.
