Union Radio’s contemporary hit music network, 40 Principales, announced its sponsorship of racers in all three categories of the Motorcycle Road Racing World Championship, which starts in Qatar on 4/11. 40 Principales and its 6 million daily listeners will be backing Héctor Barbera, 250cc category world’s second place champion in 2009, who will run in MotoGP category for the first time; Sergio Gadea who will race in the new Moto2 category; and Nico Terol, currently number 3 in the world, who will fight for the title in the 125cc category.

The Road Racing World Championship is the premier championship of motorcycle road racing and it is currently divided into three distinct classes: 125cc, Moto2 (which replaces the previous 250cc category), and MotoGP. Grand prix motorcycles are purpose-built racing machines that are neither available for general purchase nor can be legitimately ridden on public roads. There are 18 Grands Prix in 14 countries in this season, which brings together the world’s top motorcycle manufacturers such as Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Ducati, Kawasaki, Aprilia and KTM – plus an elite crop of riders from every corner of the globe.

Union Radio, the radio division of Grupo PRISA, is the leading Spanish radio network in the world and is focused on news, music, entertainment and sports. The structure revolves around five main business areas: Radio, Music, Television, Digital Channels and Brand Development.
