Now listeners in Atlanta will be able to take the “musical horns” of Clear Channel’s Country WUBL 94.9 The Bull in Atlanta. Listener Driven Radio (LDR), which provides interactive audio programming software, calls The Bull its newest affiliate.

94.9 The Bull will use white-labeled LDR to power its “Bull Tunes on Demand” feature, which allows the audience to pick songs that play through the hour. Listeners can vote and affect the radio station’s music in real-time at www.949thebull.com.

Says The Bull PD Dan Persigehl: “Country music fans are passionate and opinionated. We think it’s important to give our audience a voice in what’s played. Now, with Listener Driven Radio, the music every hour is steered by our listeners. It’s a ground-breaking way to do country radio.”

“Our goal is to harness the passion of Atlanta’s country radio audience to power PPM ratings success and web traffic for WUBL,” said Daniel Anstandig, President of LDR. “We are proud to work with Clear Channel Atlanta, Dan Persigehl, and his team.”

LDR recently signed Clear Channel’s WISX/Philadelphia, WAXQ/New York, as well as 22 other major and medium market affiliates.

RBR-TVBR observation: A great way to increase traffic to your website and become a bit of a “Pandora” for your listeners (including the thumbs up, thumbs down feature). Giving the audience a voice on what’s played at the station is also a great way to increase ratings and loyalty. Of course, we know the software isn’t going to allow listeners to vote on songs such as “Bohemian Rhapsody” or “Karma Chameleon” for the station.
