Near the town of Oak Ridge, Tenn., is an AM radio station with a FM translator that until now has been licensed to Blount Broadcasting Corp.
That entity has just agreed to a sale of the facilities.
The buyer is Radio Loudon, which is paying $37,811 for the AM and FM translator.
They are WLOD-AM & W284DC in Loudon, Tenn., and they serve the cities of Lenoir City and Philadelphia — Tennessee, that is.
The seller is led by Johnnie Sexton, while the buyer is a locally based entity.
Serving as the seller’s legal counsel in the transaction is Mark Denbo of Smithwick & Belendiuk.
WLOD is a Class D daytimer at 1140 kHz that must sign off at night to protect Class A WRVA in Richmond.
