A Controversial Miami Deal Is Dead

0

One year ago, the parent of a Miami-based Spanish-language broadcast television operation moved forward on a previously expressed desire to become a multimedia operation in one of the nation’s largest Hispanic markets.

It filed paperwork to purchase WSUA-AM 1260 in Miami, known as “Caracol 1260,” from a domestic subsidiary of Madrid-based Iberoamerican media giant Grupo PRISA. The deal generated much chatter, and claims of political bias. Some sought to prevent the deal from happening.

They’ve gotten their wish. WSUA won’t be placed in the hands of Marcell Felipe and Carlos Vasallo.
