A Keystone Return For A TEGNA News Vet

She began her career in 1997 as an assistant assignment editor at WPXI-11, Cox Media Group’s NBC affiliate in Pittsburgh.

Now, after some time in the South, she’s coming back to the Keystone State to serve as President/GM of a TEGNA ABC affiliate.

Julie Eisenman is taking the reins at WNEP-16, which serves the Wilkes Barre-Scranton-Hazleton DMA in northeastern Pennsylvania.

Her first day on the job is June 14 and she replaces Chuck Morgan, who retired in April.

“Julie’s experience as a journalist, news leader and mentor make her an exceptional choice for president and general manager at WNEP,” said Lynn Beall, EVP and COO of media operations at TEGNA. “A native of Pennsylvania, Julie understands the strengths of WNEP and what the station means to the community. With her creative and collaborative approach, she’ll play a key role leading the team as they continue to serve all of Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania.”

Eisenman’s experience includes two years as a producer at WJET-24 in Erie, Pa., today a Nexstar-owned station. In 2000, she transitioned to a reporter, and spent five years covering news before being promoted to Asst. News Director and, later, News Director at NBC affiliate WICU-12, the Lilly-owned station in Erie. Eisenman added ND duties for co-owned WSEE-35 in 2009.

She departed Erie in 2011, taking on ND duties for WJCL-22 and WTGS-28 in Savannah, Ga. In February 2015, she took the leap and went to Atlanta, joining TEGNA for the first time as WXIA-11 Alive’s Asst. ND.

In 2017, she was promoted to ND for TEGNA’s CBS affiliate in Columbia, S.C., WLTX-19.

Since August 2020, she’s been the Director of Content for WLTX.

Eisenman is a 1997 graduate of Clarion University of Pennsylvania.
