A Lone Star Shift To Sports

To the southwest of Corpus Christi, Tex., is Falfurrias, home to a Class B AM that has been owned and operated by a New Jersey-based Hispanic broadcast ministry since fall 2019.

Now, Erick Salgado is saying goodbye to this station.

Class B KLDS-AM 1260 is being spun by Cantico Nuevo Ministry to SportsRadioCC LLC, and is paying $70,000 for the facility.

Terms call for a 10% initial payment, with the remainder due in cash at closing.

SportsRadioCC is based in Corpus Christi, and is headed by William Doerner. It owns KSIX-AM in Corpus Christi, a Class C at 1230 kHz. With this deal, it is assumed that KSIX and KLDS would become simulcast partners, with “Sports Radio Corpus Christi” expanding to Falfurrias.

Syndicated programs include The Dan Patrick Show and Jim Rome & The Jungle.

For Salgado, his operation will now focus on the FM that it acquired with KLDS in August 2019 from La Radio Cristiana Network Inc. and Paulina Bernal Evangelism, Class A KDFM-FM 103.3 in Falfurrias, Tex.

Serving as the broker in this transaction is Beth Griffin of Griffin Media Partners.
