A ‘Mojo’ Move For Cumulus in Mobile

Cumulus Media has a new Operations Manager for its radio stations in Mobile.

It’s a 26-year radio industry veteran who started his career in nights at WFLZ-FM in Tampa and has most recently served as Director of Operations for Southern Broadcasting in Florence-Muscle Shoals, Ala.

Taking the post is Vincent “Mojo” Wilson, who will oversee legendary R&B station WBLX-FM, Adult R&B sibling WDLT-FM, Top 40 WABD-FM, Gospel WGOK-AM and Talk WXQW-AM.

Mojo will also serve as WABD and WXQW Program Director and take the midday shift on the Top 40 station once known as WABB under the Dittman family’s ownership.

Wilson’s resume includes serving as an on-air host at WMGC “105.1 The Bounce” in Detroit.

Don Boyd, who serves as VP/Market Manager for Cumulus in Mobile, said, “Mojo is a talented programmer and on-air personality with a strong track record leading Urban, CHR, Gospel and News Talk stations. He will be an excellent addition to our top performing team in Mobile as Operations Manager of our five-station group.”

Wilson added, “I’m extremely excited to join the Cumulus family and work alongside Don Boyd, Doug Hamand, and the talented team in Mobile! Cumulus Media is a company that I’ve wanted to work for, and this is the perfect fit.”

  1. “Mojo will also serve as WABD and WXQW Program Director and take the midday shift on the Top 40 station once known as WABB under the Dittman family’s ownership.”

(suggestion: a different (or more accurate) version of this part of this article)

Mojo will also serve as WABD and WXQW Program Director and take a Top 40 midday shift at WABD.

(note: this suggestion was based on a belief that the “WABD” mentioned in the article on this page was never a “WABB” of any kind)
