There will be a new Vice President of News, who will also serve as Managing Editor, of NewsNation, come July 19.
She will oversee the Nexstar Media Group-owned network’s day-to day news gathering and production process and supervise a staff of more than 100 reporters, producers, writers, and photojournalists.
Veteran news executive Cherie Grzech is taking the post.
Grzech has been the VP of Fox News since 2018. In that role, she was responsible for managing the operations of the network’s Washington, D.C., news bureau, where she developed content for eight hours of daily programming. She provided daily editorial guidance for more than a dozen teams of journalists working at the White House, Pentagon, and a variety of other federal departments and agencies, and spearheaded
the Washington, D.C., bureau’s coverage of the 2020 Presidential campaign.
From 2009 to 2018, Grzech was Fox News’ Senior Director of Politics in Washington, D.C., serving as the network’s primary editorial liaison to both the Democratic and Republican parties.
Her appointment will likely fuel the conversation surrounding NewsNation’s apparent shift to a conservative lean in its political and governmental news coverage and opinion-fueled programs. Nexstar had touted NewsNation as an unbiased alternative to the nation’s cable television news networks that have dominated the marketplace for the last several years — including Fox News, which is under attack from Boca Raton, Fla.-based Newsmax and, on a lesser scale, from One American News Network.
Grzeh will be based in Chicago and reports to NewsNation President of News Michael Corn.

She has pioneered innovative news gathering and production techniques and forged important partnerships with new media platforms and organizations. Most important, Cherie understands that viewers are looking for fact-based journalism they can trust. She will be a great addition to the NewsNation team as we expand our programming.”
Grzech began her career in broadcast journalism as an intern and on-air reporter at WJBF-6 in Augusta, Ga., mow owned by Nexstar.
In 1995, Grzech became the youngest female news director in the U.S. at WILX-TV in Lansing, Mich.
She then joined Capitol Broadcasting Co.’s pioneering WRAL-5 in Raleigh-Durham, as Assistant News Director.
Later, Grzech served as Managing Editor of Sinclair Broadcast Group ABC affiliate KATU-2 in Portland, Ore.
