In a deal finalized Sept. 6, 2019, DTV America Corp. — an entity that is majority controlled by HC2 Holdings — agreed to sell low power television stations WCGZ-LD 21 in La Grange, Ga., and W26DT-D in Myrtle Beach, S.C. to licensee Lowcountry 34 Media.
Now, Lowcountry 34 — led by Jeff and Janet Winemiller — is selling a full-power station in Savannah, Ga., that had been associated with those two LPTVs.
The Winemillers have agreed to sell WSCG-TV in Savannah to Radiant Life Ministries, a programming affiliate of TCT Network, for $3 million.
The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2020 pending regulatory approval.
“We are very pleased with the sale to TCT,” said Jeff Winemiller. “Their programming will be a wonderful service to our viewers.”
WSCG-TV is the former WGSA-TV and signed on the air in May 1992 as an unaffiliated station. It was acquired by Lowcountry in 2017.
WSCG is the only locally owned independent television station in the market and via its DT channels offers 12 channels including Heroes & Icons, ION Network and The Justice Network.
TCT says it offers “exclusive programming that is relevant for today’s generations, addressing topics and issues that affect our everyday lives, and engaging
the whole family with an array of fresh and relevant program choices.”
Founded in 1977, TCT is based in Marion, Ill.
Greg Guy of Patrick Communications represented the seller as the exclusive broker in this transaction.
