ABC’s ‘GMA’ gaining total viewers year to year

“GMA” is Only Morning Show to Gain Total Viewers Year to Year. “GMA” Increases Adult 25-54 Demo Week to Week. “GMA” Cuts the Total Viewing Gap with NBC by 25% Year to Year; Also Shrinks Demo Gap Week to Week and Year to Year.


“GMA” Extends Both Demo and Total Viewing Advantages Over CBS Year to Year.
 
For the week of May 31st, ABC’s “Good Morning America” averaged 4.200 million Total Viewers and a 1.4/11 among Adults 25-54. “GMA” increased its Adult 25-54 Demo audience by +2% week to week. Once again, “GMA” was the only morning program to experience Total Viewer growth year to year (+2%), while both NBC’s “Today” and CBS’ “Early Show” declined. 
 
“GMA” continues to reduce “Today’s” Total Viewing lead, shrinking the gap by -25% year to year. The Adult 25-54 Demo gap shrank -9% week to week and 7% year to year. 
 
 In addition, “GMA’s” Adult 25-54 Demo lead (680,000) over the “Early Show” was +6% larger vs. the same week last year. ABC expanded its Total Viewing advantage (1,740,000) over CBS +13% year-to-year.

The Emmy Award-winning morning news program, featuring the anchor team of Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Sam Champion and Juju Chang, airs live Monday through Friday from 7:00-9:00 a.m., ET on the ABC Television Network. Jim Murphy is the senior executive producer and Tom Cibrowski is the executive producer of ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

Please note: Due to the Memorial Day holiday on Monday 5/31/10, all three programs were excluded from the average. Robin Roberts was off Monday 5/31/10.  George Stephanopoulos broadcasted from Louisiana Wednesday 6/2/10.
