ABC's 'Nightline' No. 1 week of Dec 27th

ABC News’ “Nightline” was the No. 1 program in late night among Total Viewers (3.63 million) according to Nielsen Media Research for the week of December 27, 2010.  Also for the week, “Nightline” took second among Adults 25-54 (1.36 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.12 million).
 
Season-to-date, “Nightline” ranks in first place among Total Viewers and A25-54. This is the first time “Nightline” has been in first place at this point in the season since at least the 1993-94 season, when “Letterman” began on CBS.
 
For the week, “Nightline” outdrew CBS’ “Late Show with David Letterman” across all key target demos: Total Viewers (+340,000), Adults 25-54 (+30,000) and Adults 18-49 (110,000).  In fact, “Nightline” bettered the CBS program for the 14th week in a row in Total Viewers
 
ABC News’ “Nightline” is anchored by Cynthia McFadden, Terry Moran and Bill Weir. John Donvan and Vicki Mabrey are correspondents. James Goldston is the executive producer. The program airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m., ET on the ABC Television Network.
 
*Note: Weekly averages on ABC, CBS and NBC are based on Monday-Thursday telecasts. “Nightline” was pre-empted on 12/31/10 by New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, while “The Tonight Show” and “The Late Show” were coded as specials and excluded from the weekly average.
