Unique digital art. That’s perhaps the easiest way to describe what a non-fungible token, or “NFT,” is. It’s tied to cryptocurrency, and it’s hot.
The nation’s No. 1 creator and distributor of audio content understands this. Now, one of its top syndicated radio programs is partnering with OneOf on an exclusive NFT partnership.
OneOf, a Green Web3 Company “built for music and sports,” has forged an agreement with The Breakfast Club, the morning show syndicated by iHeartMedia-owned Premiere Networks.
Hosted by DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlamagne tha God, the program is distributed to Hip-Hop and R&B radio stations across the U.S. The air personalities also host a podcast.
The OneOf partnership with The Breakfast Club, which is exclusive, is engineered to bring the accessibility of NFTs “to a mass audience.” It may also broaden the platform to “diverse” artists and create ‘six drops of digital NFT collectibles inspired by the morning show and its legendary hosts.”
The artwork featured in the first drop will be created by renowned illustrator and visual artist Justin Richburg. The Breakfast Club will promote this drop on its morning program and podcast.
Gayle Troberman, Chief Marketing Officer for iHeartMedia, signed off on the agreement.
Lin Dai, CEO and co-founder of OneOf, calls The Breakfast Club “the most culturally relevant morning show in America.” Dai continues, “OneOf has always been committed to be the most inclusive NFT platform since our founding.”
OneOf is backed by Quincy Jones, and more than 80% of OneOf NFT collections are by Black or multicultural artists.
OneOf and iHeartRadio first partnered in Fall 2021, when the platform created the official collectible NFT for the annual iHeartRadio Music Festival. The collection featured one million free NFTs and participating fans were eligible to receive tickets to the festival as well as limited-edition iHeartRadio Music Festival NFT artwork.
Since then OneOf has announced major partnerships with Warner Music Group, The Grammy Awards and Sports Illustrated. OneOf’s recent Whitney Houston Collection made headlines when a never-before-heard Whitney Houston song made when she was 17 was sold at auction on OneOf for $1 million.
