Anchorage CBS affiliate sold

SoldDenali Media and another license company affiliated with GCI Communications are breaking into the TV business with the acquisition of a KTVA-TV Anchorage AK, the market’s CBS outlet, and it has a second deal to acquire a pair of low power NBC stations serving Juneau and Sitka.


Denali is headed by William C. Behnke.

The seller listed on the transaction application is Affiliated Media Inc. FCC Trust, with trustees listed as Ronald A. Mayo, William Dean Singleton and Howard E. Begle Jr. Also listed as being in on the sale is Alaska Broadcasting Company Inc. and Media News Group Inc.

The price for KTVA, which comes with six translators, is $6.925M.

The second deal is for KATH-LD Juneau-Douglas and KSCT-LP Sitka. They are coming from Dan Etulain/North Star Television Network for $675K cash. Both are NBC affiliates.
