Arbitron's RADAR 111: DG, Premiere, USRN tops

Arbitron rankers for network radio Persons aged 18-49 and Persons aged 25-54 have Dial-Global’s Complete FM Network, Contemporary Network and Adult Power once gain topping the lists. Premiere’s Premiere Modern Women Network and Today’s Men Network were 4th and 5th place for 18-49 and its Informed Network and Today’s Men Network took 4th and 5th for 25-54.


United Stations scored 6th place with its Impact Network in 18-49; and 7th place in 25-54. Impact’s 18-49 scores showed significant AQH audience increases amongst the Top 10 rated Networks from RADAR 110.  Says USRN President/COO Jim Higgins: “United Stations continues to add significant new stations to our Impact network that are a benefit to our advertisers in terms of both solid audience growth in the important buying dayparts and continued high ranking in the Network radio marketplace.”

Some 189 million Persons 12+, or 73%, heard one or more network radio commercials in an average week of the survey period. Commercials aired on the 55 radio networks measure reached:

•72.8% of Persons aged 12+ (189,015,000 Persons)
•73.2% of Persons aged 18+ (171,718,000 Persons)
•72.5% of Persons aged 35+ (118,796,000 Persons)
•75.7% of Persons aged 18-49 (102,140,000 Persons)
•76.2% of Persons aged 25-54 (96,615,000 Persons)

Highlights:
·         Overall Gross Impressions are down about 5% year to year.
·         Network Radio reaches more than three in four Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54.
·         Dial/Westwood One removed the Westwood Women network.
·         Dial Global merged with Westwood One under the Dial Global name. 
·         All of the data from Arbitron’s 48 PPM markets is now fully incorporated into RADAR with this December report. PPM data comprises 53% of the RADAR sample base.
·         The RADAR December 2011 report reflects affiliates as of October 2011.
·         Changes in listening reflect the differences in the newest quarter of listening, Summer 2011 versus Summer 2010.
·         These estimates reflect the changes in the standard published RADAR 111 report. It does not include audiences from any Special Tabulations. Several Special Tabs are being used to reflect projected audiences in 2012.
