Audacy’s Sports SVP Driving To New Opportunity

In February 2021, with a marketing alliance with FanDuel, an acquisition of sports data and iGaming affiliate platform QL Gaming Group and the launch of the BetQL Audio Network exciting investors among the big takeaways surrounding the heritage radio broadcasting company Entercom, the company successfully lured a three-year VP of Content Strategy for NBC Sports Washington to serve as its corporate-level VP of Sports.

He would later rise to SVP/Sports. Now, Matthew Volk is preparing to exit the audio content creation and distribution company today known as Audacy Corp.

News regarding Volk’s departure from Audacy at the end of 2022 was first shared by Streamline Publishing’s Radio Ink. It obtained a company internal memo which stated Volk would be taking “a C-level position back home in Boston,” and back in sports television. The memo was distributed by Audacy EVP and Head of Programming Jeff Sottolano.

Assuming the role of VP/Sports with oversight of the podcast entity “2400Sports,” launched in June 2021, is Danny Freisinger. He will also partner with Sports Format Vice President and WFAN/New York Brand Manager Spike Eskin on the development of new content for multiple platforms.

Meanwhile, Mitch Rosen, Brand Manager for WSCR “670 The Score” in Chicago, rises to VP from Director/Operations for the BetQL Network.

Rosen will work with President of Sports Mike Dee on relations with sports gaming and wagering operations and external distribution in addition to his duties at The Score.
