A top executive at Greater Media who joined Beasley Media Group following its acquisition of the Boston-based owner of radio stations has just been promoted to an EVP position at the publicly traded Naples, Fla.-based audio entertainment company.

Effective immediately, Buzz Knight is now serving as Beasley’s EVP of Strategy and Innovation.

Knight previously served as VP/Programming. Now, he’ll be responsible for Beasley’s existing and future strategic initiatives, along with new opportunities that may arise in the coming months.

Knight became a part of the Beasley family following its merger with Greater Media.

From February 2002 through the merger, Knight was a SVP/Programming at Greater Media.

For nearly a decade before that, he was PD of Classic Rocker WZLX-FM 100.7 in Boston, then-owned by CBS Radio, for which he served as the Classic Rock Format Captain. Knight’s resume also includes a stint as PD of WNOR-FM in Norfolk.

“Since Buzz joined Beasley Media Group, he has been an integral part of our strategic direction and the brand management of the company,” Beasley Media Group CEO Caroline Beasley said. “His passion for innovation and new ideas will help lead us into the future.”

Knight commented, “These are transformative times in the company and the media industry. Beasley Media Group is committed to pursuing and embracing strategy and innovation. I am grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of helping to shape the company’s next exciting chapter!”
