Beasley polishes its Apple apps

Veteran radio group owner Beasley is keeping its ship pointed into a digital future. And its latest offering is an app that makes Beasley radio stations available to uses of iPhone or iPodTouch.

The technology allows Beasley fans to access 36 of its best stations from any of its markets no matter where they are and no matter what time it is. They can find them using call letters, monikers and in other ways.

“From AM to FM…to digital and online…to streaming and interactive….and now to our new iPhone application, we’ve stayed on the cutting edge,” remarked Beasley Broadcast Chairman and CEO George G. Beasley.  “Radio thrills me as much today as it did in 1961 when we bought our first station.”

RBR-TVBR observation: People don’t carry around transistor radios or boomboxes any more. If you’ve used your local advantage to build a strong relationship with your listeners, and you want them to take you along when they are outside of their car or home, then you have to be available on the equipment they DO carry. Kudos to Beasley for making sure they tag along wherever their loyal fans are going.
