Behind The Live Music Streaming Service Elected By iHeart

The nation’s No. 1 owner of AM and FM radio stations on Monday announced that it has reached a partnership with a global digital media company focused on live entertainment to give alternative music fans who can’t make it to Inglewood, Calif., on Jan. 19 a virtual seat at a big concert event.


Introducting LiveXLive Media, publicly traded on Nasdaq as “LIVX.”

LiveXLive is focused on live entertainment, and its been picked to livestream the 2019 edition of iHeartRadio‘s ALTer Ego event, being staged at the Forum, near Los Angeles.

It’s the start of a multi-event partnership between iHeart and LiveXLive.

“Our mission is to bring our global audience of music fans the ‘best seat in the house’ for musically diverse concerts by the most popular artists,” said LiveXLive Chairman/CEO Rob Ellin. “iHeartMedia, with its massive reach across radio, digital and social, and its culture-defining marquee events such as ALTer Ego, is undeniably a perfect fit.”

John Sykes, President of Entertainment Enterprises for iHeartMedia, added, “With tickets having sold out immediately, our partnership with LiveXLive will give music fans across the country the opportunity to view this livestream on any device.”

In addition to performances, LiveXLive will livestream original content created around the artists and the events.

LiveXLive plans to stream more than 27 music festivals and concerts across the globe featuring over 350 hours of live content during its 2019 fiscal year. The company has quickly expanded its live opportunities to include single artist, award shows, tributes and other cultural events.

LiveXLive considers itself as the first “live social music network,” delivering premium livestreams, digital audio and on-demand music experiences from the world’s top music festivals and concerts—including Rock in Rio, EDC Las Vegas, and the Montreux Jazz Festival.

Further, LiveXLive is now the owner of internet radio service Slacker Radio.
