The Wichita-Hutchinson, Kansas, DMA has just become the latest to bring NEXTGEN TV signals to those consumers that have a television capable of receiving the new digital broadcast TV standard powered by ATSC 3.0.

Two stations are serving as “lighthouse” facilities for the market: KSCW-DT 33, a Gray Television affiliate of The CW Network; and Dabl-affiliated KMTW-36, owned by Mercury Broadcasting Company and operated via a shared services agreement with Sinclair Broadcast Group.

In addition to those stations offering NEXTGEN TV signals, other stations in the market now doing so include Lockwood Broadcast Group-owned ABC affiliate KAKE-TV; Sinclair-owned FOX affiliate KSAS-TV; Gray’s CBS-affiliated KWCH-12; Nexstar Media Group‘s NBC/Telemundo-affiliated KSNW-TV; and PBS Member station KPTS-TV.

BitPath, which is developing new data broadcasting services, led the planning process and
coordinated efforts across the seven television stations.
