Broadcast Advertising Expected To Continue Its Decline

According to MoffettNathanson Research, national TV advertising will decline in four consecutive quarters (all of 2017) for the first time in over six years. Despite an earlier projection of a 1.8% decline, national advertising revenues for publicly traded companies are projected to fall 2.7% in the fourth quarter. The third quarter had a similar decline (leaving out 2016 Olympic comparisons) while quarter one and two each dropped by 2%.
