A drop in the Chicago Purchasing Managers Index weighed on stocks Wednesday, although the weakness in manufacturing appeared not to affect media stocks. The Dow Industrials fell 30 points, or 0.3%, to 9,712.
The RBR Radio Index rose 2.664, or 2.2%, to 121.635.
The TVBR Television Index rose 3.770, or 3.3%, to 117.254.
