The company announced a new credit card rewards promotion dubbed “Match My Miles Challenge” which gives consumers who open a Capital One Venture Card the opportunity to match up to 100,000 miles they currently have in an airline credit card rewards program. It’s being promoted via an integrated campaign including national TV featuring Alec Baldwin. In the 30-second ad, premiered 3/15 at 10:30 PM ET on Capital One’s Facebook page, he encourages consumers to sign up and take the “Match My Miles Challenge.”
Capital One spokesperson Sukhi Sahni tells RBR-TVBR Baldwin will be featured across the campaign, which also includes digital marketing and PR. The TV ad will air across the major TV networks and cable, and will be seen during many primetime blockbusters: “And as a NCAA Corporate Champion, we will capitalize on the exposure associated with March Madness (the ad made its debut during the NCAA’s Selection Sunday show on CBS and will remain in our rotation throughout March Madness).”
To receive the miles match, a new cardholder must register and provide proof of their current airline credit card miles and then spend $1,000 on their Venture Card during the first three months. This promotion is available on a first-come, first served basis and will end when one billion miles have been matched.
