Car dealer bags a pair of Denver FMs

Douglas Moreland ought to be able to procure some sweetheart rate and flight options from KJAC-FM Timnath CO and KCUV-FM Greenwood Village CO. The Denver move-ins will be his once a $5M acquisition proposal becomes a reality.


The seller is NRC Broadcasting Inc., headed by Timothy Brown. Brown will bank $5M cash. A TBA is scheduled to kick off 4/1/10.

According to Media Services Group broker Jody McCoy, who represented the seller, the stations broadcast from the western or elevated side of Denver and put a decent signal over most of the relevant turf.

They’ve been using the Jack FM format, but Brown holds the Colorado rights to it and will be using it elsewhere, so format changes are expected for the duo, which are currently in simulcast.

McCoy hears that Moreland up to now has mostly relied on television to market his automotive wares, which include multiple dealerships, including locations in both Denver and Colorado Springs. The suspicion is that Moreland’s presence on the radio is about to get a significant shot in the arm.
