The former VP and Director of Programming at an ABC O&O in the City of Brotherly Love has been chosen to serve as the new Senior VP of Television for the NAB.

April Carty-Sipp, most recent with The Walt Disney Co.‘s WPVI-6 in Philadelphia, will join the broadcast media industry’s top lobbying and advocacy group on March 1.

She’ll report to NAB COO Chris Ornelas.

At WPVI, Carty-Sipp led local programming, production and the public affairs departments. She also supervised original programming at the station.

Carty-Sipp joined WPVI five years ago after working for 12 years in the creative and marketing departments at Comcast/NBCUniversal, and was SVP/Creative Services and Brand Integration for NBC Regional Sports Networks upon her departure to WPVI.

Earlier in her career, Carty-Sipp worked in senior programming and promotions positions at Paramount Stations Group-owned WPSG-TV Philadelphia. Her first field-related job in television was working for the Philadelphia Phillies baseball club.
