Countdown king Casey Kasem was taken to a hospital in Washington state 6/1 after his wife threw a pound of raw hamburger meat at his daughter Kerri in a Biblical twist in the ongoing family feud over his health care, reported the NY Daily News.
Kasem’s wife, Jean, appeared to be yelling at Kasem’s daughter, Kerri, as sheriff deputies and members of a motorcycle group watched the drama unfold.
The incident comes just two days after a Washington judge granted Kerri Kasem, 41, permission to visit her ailing dad.
“In the name of King David, I threw a piece of raw meat into the street in exchange for my husband to the wild rabid dogs,” Jean Kasem told NBC News, citing Biblical scripture.
A Los Angeles judge ruled last month that Kerri Kasem should be in charge of her father’s medical care, and on Friday a Washington judge upheld the ruling.
Kerri Kasem testified at a hearing last week that a doctor hired by Jean Kasem revealed her father had developed bed sores and infections in his lungs and bladder while in Washington.
“Kerri was just very, very upset because her dad’s health had declined so much since she … saw him on May 6,” Casey Kasem’s sister, Mary Kasem, of Michigan, told NBC News. “He just went backwards. It broke my heart.”
