CBS Radio announced management for CBS Sports Radio. Longtime Sports Radio 66 WFAN employee Eric Spitz will take on the role of Director of Programming with responsibility for talent development, scheduling, on-air presentation and production. He will report to Chris Oliviero, SVP/Programming, CBS Radio who will also oversee the day-to-day operations of the network. Spitz has served as the PD for WFAN-AM NY.
Says Oliviero, “We are also fortunate to be able to call on the expertise of Mark Chernoff, who is without a doubt the most successful sports radio program director of all time. Mark has been one of the principals helping to lay the foundation for CBS Sports Radio and his continued guidance will be a huge advantage as we craft programming we are confident will be of great interest to our affiliates around the country.”
Chernoff also is Vice President, Sports Programming, CBS Radio. In this role, he guides the company’s sports radio strategy and presides over the format currently broadcast on 18 stations nationwide.
