CBS takes Monday with comedy; 'How I Met Your Mother'

CBS Wins Every Half Hour on Monday in Key Demos for the 11th time in 12 Weeks 


HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER delivered its largest audience for a regularly scheduled episode since January 2009 and 2 BROKE GIRLS had its biggest audience since its season premiere, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Dec. 5.

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER was first in households (7.3/11), viewers (11.71m), adults 25-54 (5.2/13), adults 18-49 (4.5/12) and adults 18-34 (3.9/12).  Compared to the last first-run episode (on Nov. 21), HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER was up +20% in household (from 6.1/09), +8% in adults 25-54 (from 4.8/12), +2% in adults 18-49 (from 4.4/12) and added +1.70m viewers (from 10.01m, +17%).  HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER posted its largest audience since Jan. 12, 2009.

2 BROKE GIRLS was first in households (7.9/12), viewers (12.78m), adults 25-54 (5.6/13), adults 18-49 (4.6/11) and adults 18-34 (3.4/10).  2 BROKE GIRLS built on its HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER lead-in by +8% in both households and adults 25-54, +2% in adults 18-49 and added +1.07m viewers (+9%).  Compared to the last first-run episode (on Nov. 21), 2 BROKE GIRLS +8% in adults 25-54 (from 5.2/12), even in adults 18-49 (from 4.6/12) and added +1.45m viewers (from 11.33m, +13%) for its largest audience since season premiere.

TWO AND A HALF MEN was first in households (9.3/14), viewers (15.04m), adults 25-54 (6.1/13), adults 18-49 (5.0/12) and adults 18-34 (3.5/09). TWO AND A HALF MEN was the night’s top program in households, viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49. 

MIKE & MOLLY was first in households (7.9/12), viewers (12.74m), adults 25-54 (5.4/12), adults 18-49 (4.2/10) and adults 18-34 (2.6/07).   

HAWAII FIVE-0 was first in households (6.8/11), viewers (10.76m), adults 25-54 (4.0/09), adults 18-49  (3.0/08) and adults 18-34 (1.5/04).  HAWAII FIVE-0 was up (from 6.7/11), +8% in adults 25-54 (from 3.7/09), +7% in adults 18-49 (from 2.8/07) and added +170,000 viewers (from 10.59m, +2%) compared to the last first-run episode (on Nov. 21). 

For the night, CBS was first in households (7.7/12), viewers (12.30m), adults 25-54 (5.1/11), adults 18-49 (4.0/10) and adults 18-34 (2.7/08).  CBS was first in every half-hour in adults 18-49 for the 11th Monday in 12 weeks.  CBS was first in every half-hour in the comedy block for the 12th consecutive week in adults 18-49, 11 of 12 weeks in adults 25-54.
