Rumor had it Citadel was looking to blow up WJZW-FM DC (Scott Shannon/True Oldies with Imus in the AM) and possibly simulcast WMAL-AM there. Not so. At 10 AM today Classic Rock “The Edge” launched with a Classic Rock/90’s Alternative hybrid. Many had missed CBS Radio’s Classic Rock WARW/WTGB, which had switched to AC Fresh FM a few months ago. WTGB tried AAA for a while, but it didn’t get the traction they were looking for. WJZW’s HD2 remains Smooth Jazz for now. As far as we’ve heard, Imus will not be staying for mornings.
