Media Storm has been named the media buying and planning agency of record for Country Music Television (CMT). The announcement was made by Media Storm Co-Founder and Managing Partner Craig Woerz.
The agency was brought on to expand CMT’s audience both on-air and online, maximizing brand awareness and consumer engagement across multiple platforms.
“Media Storm is redefining the media buying and planning model for the entertainment industry,” says Dee McLaughlin, CMT senior vice president, brand marketing. “The strategies they have already developed for us combine enthusiastic creative thinking with in-depth factual analysis and unparalleled knowledge and responsiveness.”
The first campaign under this relationship was for True Blue: Ten Years of Blue Collar Comedy and Blue Collar Comedy: Ten Years of Funny, which premiered March 13 and delivered big numbers leading to the network’s highest-rated week of the quarter. In fact, True Blue: Ten Years of Blue Collar Comedy became the network’s highest-rated program since the day of the 2009 CMT Music Awards.
“CMT is one of the strongest brands in the worlds of music and entertainment,” noted Woerz. “Utilizing Media Storm’s broad experience in working with prominent television networks, we look forward to reinforcing CMT’s value with its core audience while implementing a strategic media campaign that builds a relationship with a new, expanded viewer base.”
