You don’t see one like this every day. Low power television stations serving four key Colorado media markets are going from a Catholic to a Jewish licensee.
The stations run north to south, roughly where the Great Plains end and the Rocky Mountains begin.
The key facility is KDEO-LD in Denver. Also included in the deal are KJCS-LD Colorado Springs, KMLN-LD Fort Collins and K16KA-D Pueblo.
All are operating save the Pueblo outlet, which is licensed but silent.
The seller is Catholic Television Apostolate, headed by founder Jean B. Van de Sande.
The buyer is Simchat Torah Beit Midrash, headed by Rabbi Ralph Messer.
The price is $800,000 cash.
KDEO-LD operates on Channel 46 actual/Channel 23; KJCS-LD on Channel 38; KMLN-LD on Channel 24; and K16KA-D on Channel 16.
