Comment, Reply Dates Lined Up For Cable Channel NPRM

On April 17, the Commission released a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM)
proposing to eliminate the requirement in Section 76.1705 of the Commission’s rules that cable operators maintain at their local office a current listing of the cable television channels that each cable system delivers to its subscribers.

The FCC invited comment in the NPRM on whether it should also eliminate the requirement in Section 76.1700(a)(4) that certain cable operators make their channel lineup available via their online public inspection file.

The Commission set deadlines for filing comments and reply comments at 30 and 45 days,
respectively, after publication of the NPRM in the Federal Register.

The summary of the NPRM was published in the Federal Register on May 1, 2018.

Accordingly, comments will be due on or before May 31, and reply comments will be due on or before June 15.

Commenters should follow the filing instructions provided in paragraph 13 of the NPRM.
