Univision announced that after an incredible run of more than 20 years, Cristina Saralegui’s “El Show de Cristina” will be coming to an end. The Univision Network will air the finale of “El Show de Cristina” on 11/1, beginning the all-important November sweeps period. After the show’s finale, Cristina will continue to be an active member of the Univision family, hosting specials on Univision in the future.
Beginning with a daily talk show, and more recently with her weekly program, “El Show de Cristina” has captured the hearts and minds of her avid viewers for more than 20 years. She has empowered and entertained the community with topical information, a “who’s who” of high profile guests and with her familiar, friendly warmth that audiences have come to know and love.
Cesar Conde, president of the Univision Networks commented, “Cristina has been an inspirational and powerful force in the television industry throughout her career and her celebrated show has been one of the most beloved and popular programs in Spanish-language television history.”
Said Saralegui: “I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to host ‘El Show de Cristina’ over the past 20 years and work with the incredible people at Univision. It is bittersweet to announce the end of what has been a very rewarding experience, but after many wonderful years, now is the perfect time to retire the show and move on to the next exciting phase of my career. I look forward to continuing to entertain my incredibly supportive and dedicated fans as the host of upcoming Univision specials.”
