KDUN is a Class B at 1030 kHz, putting a 50kw daytime signal over coastal Oregon from Newport to Gold Beach. It has 630 watts after dark, from 1 tower; incredibly, it must protect WBZ-AM 1030 in Boston and Radio Tele Ginen in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti.
As noted by the NAB upon her 2017 induction into the associations’ Broadcasting Hall of Fame, Delilah first became interested in radio while in middle school in Reedsport, Ore. There, she provided local sports reports and school news for KDUN.
KDUN began operations in June 1961 as KRAF. From 1997-2002, it held the KLLU calls; KDUN had been in place before that, from 1970.
