Dielectric Moves Ahead with Western Sales Manager Addition

Dielectric has appointed a 27-year broadcast industry veteran as the company’s Western Sales Manager, and he reports to Vice President of Sales Jay Martin.

Dave Benco will manage new and existing Dielectric accounts west of the Mississippi, with an emphasis on helping broadcasters prepare their TV and radio infrastructures for the next generation of over-the-air opportunities.

Benco is a familiar figure who served as VP of Sales for ERI, and had account management roles prior to that at GatesAir and, before that, Rohde & Schwarz.

His career dates to 1995, when he became Director of Sales at Axcera.

In 2016, upon joining ERI, he learned of the antenna and RF systems side of the business.

As such, Benco, as Dielectric sees it, possesses “a complete understanding of the entire RF chain, and how to optimize broadcasters’ efficiency and market coverage.”

Benco commented, “It’s exciting to work with broadcasters as someone who brings that view of the whole RF chain. Fresh off what I learned with the spectrum repack, I will bring value to broadcasters that have started to develop strategies for their ATSC 3.0 systems and NextGenTV opportunities. Dielectric has developed some unique and compelling FM and HD Radio technologies, particularly with their new line of pylon antennas. Along with their AI modeling innovations that are progressing through the FCC, I see an abundance of business opportunities to refresh radio infrastructure while capitalizing their technology investments.”

Benco adds that while the TV repack is over besides some final LPTV projects, more than 1000 US TV stations were not repacked. “These stations were frozen from making technology upgrades for 10 years and have been operating with their initial DTV systems,” he said. “Many are ready to make changes, and Dielectric is well-positioned as the market leader in technology to help them modernize their systems.”

Benco reports to Dielectric VP of Sales Jay Martin.
