The rebranding combines the real-life stories of Discovery Health with the fitness programming of FitTV. Discovery Communications will evolve its FitTV network to Discovery Fit & Health on 2/1. The transition will be seamless to some 50 million homes and found on the same channel. Discovery Health programming that is staying includes Dr. G: Medical Examiner; I’m Pregnant And…; 911: The Bronx and Untold Stores of the ER. Early mornings will offer FitTV workout programming including Bodies in Motion with Gilad, Namaste Yoga and Shimmy.
The move will allow some of the shows of recently-shuttered Discovery Health to make way for OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network, a JV of Winfrey and Discovery, to move to the rebranded channel.
Based on the network’s long history of health programming, content will include forensic mysteries, medical stories, emergency room trauma dramas, baby and pregnancy programming, parenting challenges, and stories of extreme life conditions, supercharged with a new slate of premiere series and important specials.

The network’s schedule will feature a number of topical events, including the popular Discovery Health franchises Baby Week, Psych Week, Adventures in Parenting, and New Year, New You.
