November 2009 Wraps as Disney XD’s Most-Watched November on Record in Prime and Total Day in Core Kid Demos

Disney XD Leads All Kid-Targeting Cable Nets in Year-to-Year Increases in Total Day and Prime Across Target 6-14 and 9-14 Demos

In Total Day, Disney XD Records its 11th Straight Month of Double-Digit Year-to-Year Percent Gains Across All Key Measures

“Phineas and Ferb” Ranks a Competitive 3rd on Saturday Mornings at 8 A.M., Overshadowing Mid-Size Cable Network Nicktoons by Triple-Digit Percent Margins

Carried by key series and  high performing theatricals like “Spy Kids” and “Cars,” Disney XD hit new November highs in Total Day (includes Toon Disney) across all key targets, specifically Kids 6-14 (120,000) and Boys 6-14 (79,000), posting solid double-digit percent increases. 

Impressively, Disney XD was the month’s growth leader among all kid-targeting cable networks in Total Day in Kids 6-14 (+29% – 120,000 vs. 93,000), Boys 6-14 (+39% – 79,000 vs. 57,000), Kids 6-11 (+43% – 107,000 vs. 75,000), Tweens 9-14 (+42% – 74,000 vs. 52,000) and Boys 9-14 (+58% – 49,000 vs. 31,000).  In fact, this month marked the net’s 11th consecutive month of posting year-to-year double-digit percent increases across all target demos.

In Prime, November 2009 wrapped as Disney XD’s most-watched November ever (includes Toon Disney) in Total Viewers (294,000 – tied Nov. 08) and across target measures, including Kids 6-14 (151,000), Boys 6-14 (103,000), Tweens 9-14 (99,000) and Boys 9-14 (68,000).  In addition, Disney XD was the month’s growth leader among all kid cable networks in Kids 6-14 (+53% – 151,000 vs. 99,000), Boys 6-14 (+58% – 103,000 vs. 65,000), Tweens 9-14 (+90% – 99,000 vs. 52,000) and Boys 9-14 (+100% – 68,000 vs. 34,000).

Moreover, in Prime, this month marked the net’s 11th consecutive month of posting year-to-year double-digit percent increases in Kids 6-14, Kids 6-11, Tweens 9-14 and Boys 9-14, with the streak at 9 months of growth in Boys 6-14 and Boys 6-11.

In its primary Saturday 8 a.m. time period, where originals episodes debut, “Phineas and Ferb” ranked a competitive 3rd in its time period versus all cable in target boy demos, topping similarly distributed cable network Nicktoons by triple-digit percent margins:

“Phineas and Ferb” defeated Nicktoons in the half-hour across all target demos including by 557% in Total Viewers (710,000 vs. 108,000), by 451% in Boys 6-14 (226,000 vs. 41,000), by 600% in Boys 6-11 (189,000 vs. 27,000) and by 350% in Boys 9-14 (135,000 vs. 30,000).

Disney XD is a basic cable channel and multi-platform brand that showcases a compelling mix of live-action and animated programming for Kids age 6-14, hyper-targeting boys and their quest for discovery, accomplishment, sports, adventure and humor.
