DIY / Do It Yourself NetworkHome renovator and 90s’ pop icon Vanilla Ice and his crew will be back for a third season of hardcore renovations in 2013. With production expected to begin 5/12, Scripps Networks’ DIY Network home improvement series, “The Vanilla Ice Project,” will tackle a Palm Beach mansion.

“We are truly proud to have Vanilla Ice as part of DIY Network’s family and couldn’t be happier to continue working with such a well-rounded and iconic talent,” said Ross Babbit, DIY Network’s GM/SVP. “We look forward to a highly successful and entertaining third season of ‘The Vanilla Ice Project,’ as well as continuing to establish DIY Network as the destination for rock star renovation.”

After his chart topping hit “Ice Ice Baby,” Van Winkle turned his focus to a new hobby – buying land and flipping houses. He’s renovated old homes and foreclosures, and taught himself the basics through hands-on experience, research and over a decade’s worth of knowledge. The first season premiered in October 2010 and the second season 1/21/12 with new episodes airing Saturday nights at 10 p.m. ET.
