Done deal in Sun Valley

A pair of Idaho radio stations has joined a quartet of radio stations to form a sextet – but while the licenses have changed hands, family ties have not. The deal is between members of the Lee family.


The stations being sold are KART-AM and KVMX-FM Jerome ID, serving the Twin Falls-Sun Valley ID market. The buyer is Kim and Jamie Lee’s Lee Family Broadcasting Inc.

KART Broadcasting is the seller, headed by Kim’s brother Kent, along with Nancy Lee. According to broker Greg Merrill of Media Services Group, the price was $650K.

KART-AM Jerome, a Country station on 1400 kHz and KMVX-FM Jerome, an AC station on 101.9 MHz. According to Merrill, KART will retain its format, but KMVX is planning to flips its calls to KZNO and go All Sports.

Lee Family Broadcasting’s in-market holdings include:
* KFTA-AM Burley ID, a Mexican station on 970 kHz
* KZDX-FM Burley ID, a Hot AC on 93.5 MHz.
* KBAR-AM Rupert ID, a News-Talker on 1230 kHz
* KKMV-FM Rupert ID, a Country station on 106.1 MHz.
