If the latest inductee into the NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame’s first words upon being bestowed the honor are Hello Lady!, don’t be alarmed. It’s one of his catch-phrases, and anyone who has listened to his nationally syndicated radio program will probably laugh with glee.

This year’s recipient of the honor is Elvis Duran, whose Elvis Duran and the Morning Show is based at iHeartMedia’s WHTZ-FM “Z100” in New York and is nationally distributed by Premiere Networks. It can also be heard via Z100’s feed on SiriusXM, available across the U.S.

Duran will be officially inducted into the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Broadcasting Hall of Fame at the 2018 NAB Show during the newly created Achievement in Broadcasting Dinner on Monday, April 9 at the Encore in Las Vegas.

“Elvis Duran represents great radio. He has endured as one of America’s top radio talents and gets high ratings in syndication as well,” said NAB EVP/Radio John David. “We are honored to recognize his successful radio career and add him to our distinguished NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame.”

Duran’s radio career spans more than 30 years and includes both host and Program Director duties at iHeartMedia’s WIOQ-FM “Q102” in Philadelphia. He’s also been at KRBE-FM 104.1 in Houston.

Duran’s role expanded in 2012 to included talent and programming development, as well as serving as a spokesperson for the company. Beyond the studio, Duran is a committed philanthropist, supporting non-profit organizations providing care and enrichment programs for children and animals. Duran also champions causes aimed at fighting poverty and hunger, and he is an advocate for the LGBT community.

Also at the Achievement in Broadcasting Dinner, popular game shows Wheel of Fortune and JEOPARDY! will be inducted into the NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame.
