In June 1981, he took a job as a part-time announcer and “promotions gopher” at an AM radio station in Minneapolis. Behind the mic, he enjoyed nine years in Des Moines before rising to Operations Director at radio station groups in Wausau, Wisc., and Gainesville, Fla., respectively.

Seven years ago, a shift away from the mic was seen with an appointment as VP of Business Relations for MusicMaster, the programming software maker. Now, he’s taking a sales position at the company that partners with MusicMaster on automated workflow programs.

As of today, Shane Finch is now Sales Director for ENCO, which works across the radio and TV industries. He will focus on global sales and business development across all markets and product lines, and introduce ENCO’s automated workflow products into new business verticals, the company says.

Finch worked closely with the ENCO team throughout his time at MusicMaster, and ENCO says he’s bullish about remote broadcasting for radio, a trait of ENCO’s WebDAD cloud-based automated radio workflow program.

He’ll also work on promoting ENCO’s automated enCaption and enTranslate products, which offer live transcriptions and translations.

“Shane’s experience with sales management and customer relations, along with his direct familiarity with ENCO’s technology and business culture, makes him a natural fit for this important role in ENCO’s continued global growth,” said ENCO President Ken Frommert. “We have always been impressed with his broadcast industry knowledge, and his customer-first mentality is a winning approach for business development in ENCO’s existing and emerging markets. We are proud to welcome Shane to the ENCO team.”
