Eppersons keep it in the family in NC FM deal

Julie Epperson sent a radio station to Stuart W. Epperson Jr. late in 2010, and now, early in 2011, she is sending another. This time, it’s WBOB-FM Enfield NC, a Class A in an unrated portion of the state not far from Rocky Mount.

Stuart’s group is Truth Broadcasting Corporation. It will pay $1M for WBOB-FM, all of it over time. To be precise, Truth will make 99 monthly payments of $10K, and then one final $10K payment augmented by accrued interest at the rate of 2%.

The station has no contour overlap with any stations currently in the Truth Corporation portfolio.

Julie’s previous deal with Truth was the $540K sale of KUTR-AM in the Salt Lake City UT market. It’s licensed to Taylorsville UT. In that one, Stuart is getting the station in exchange for taking over the station’s obligations.

Members of the Epperson clan are involved with several small radio groups, but the main gig of Stuart W. Epperson Sr. is his work with major religious radio group Salem Communications.
