ESPN Deportes will present Dream Job: El Reportero, a special three-episode show to select a winner who will become the network’s next soccer reporter. The one-hour shows are scheduled to air on three consecutive Mondays at 9:00pm ET: April 26, May 3 and May 10. The show will feature seven finalists as they compete for the chance to serve as a reporter covering the biggest sporting event in 2010; the winner will also receive a brand new Ford Fusion Sport car.

Dream Job: El Reportero is a nationwide search contest for the ultimate sports fan, ready to take his/her sports knowledge to the next level as an ESPN Deportes soccer reporter.  After auditions held in six US cities, the seven finalists competing in Dream Job: El Reportero are: Ernesto Miranda (New York), Joseph van Wyk (Miami), Andrés Arias (Chicago), Rafael Luna (San Diego), Dhaniel Sánchez (Los Angeles), Daniela Rodríguez (Dallas) and the AT&T Wildcard finalist chosen by fans, Mauricio Villarreal (New York).

The show is hosted by renowned soccer expert Jorge Ramos with a judging panel that includes ESPN Deportes’ most recognized sports experts: Daniel ‘El Ruso’ Brailovsky, David Faitelson and Rafa Ramos. In addition, 2006 Dream Job winner and current ESPN Deportes SportsCenter’s anchor Mauricio Pedroza serves as mentor and coach to all seven contestants throughout the final stages of the competition.

The three episodes of Dream Job: El Reportero will showcase the finalists going through a series of challenges and tests to prove to the judges that they have what it takes to become an ESPN Deportes reporter. The challenges include segments modeled after the network’s top shows including SportsCenter, Fútbol Picante, and Cronómetro.  The finalists will also have to prove their reporting skills when they are given the opportunity to interview sport personalities. The show’s sponsors, Ford, AT&T, Burger King Corporation and Infinity Auto Insurance, are integrated in the show’s special segments and challenges.

The second installation of Dream Job: El Reportero travelled the country holding open auditions providing sports fans the opportunity to become part of the network’s team and travel to South Africa to cover the biggest soccer event of the year.  During a six-city casting tour, more than 1,000 contestants were judged by the network’s top commentators on their knowledge of soccer, on-camera presence and their overall smooth reporting style.  For more information, visit: dreamjob.espndeportes.com.
