FCC OKs Comment Date Extension On FM Translator NPRM

The Commission at its May Open Meeting, held without the presence of now-departed Democratic Commissioner Mignon Clyburn, issued an Notice of Proposed Rulemaking that will allow the public to comment before the FCC votes on proposed changes to Part 74 of the Commission’s rules regarding FM translator interference.


Streamlining the process for filing an FM translator interference complaint, and the remediation procedures used by the FCC to resolve such an issue, and comments were given a due date of July 6.

Thanks to the efforts of 7 radio broadcasters, a comment period extension has been granted.
