This week’s 9/25/08 FCC Open Meeting has no less than 17 separate docket items to consider, and all but two concern the Media Bureau. But only three of those MB items are of a general nature; the majority concern individual situations in a variety of categories. Of primary concern is a proposal to allow AM radio stations to use FM translators within their licensed service area for fill-in purposes. Another proposal would allow the use of computer modeling to verify directional antenna performance. A third will examine the comparative standards for awarding NCE licenses. The individual matters involve radio and television stations, and include pending transactions, new station issues, changes to the allotments tables and other matters. See the full list here:
