First Forks over lightning-struck combo

0

A combo in the western extremities of Washington State is changing hands after being the victim of a natural disaster. The assets are being sold as is, and that element of the deal is reflected in the modest price tag.
The stations are KBIS-AM and KBDB-FM, located in Forks WA, a town well to the west of Seattle and about 10 miles east of the Pacific Ocean.

According to the contract, the 12/10/10 lightning hit took both stations off air. At the time it was signed, the FM was back on a limited basis and the AM was set to apply for an STA to remain silent for the time being.

The buyer is Xana HD Solutions LLC, headed by Thomas D. Hodgins and Christopher Jacky. They will pay $25K for the combo, including $10K escrow and the balance in cash. The contract also calls for a payment by the seller to brokerage MCH Enterprises.

The seller is First Broadcasting Capital Partners. FBCP’s Eileen McCarthy-Toti signed off on the application.
