Since April 2019, he had been Sales Manager for Cumulus Media‘s stations serving Beaumont, Texas and hurricane-battered Lake Charles, La., to the east.

For six years starting in August 2011, he was an Account Executive for CBS Radio’s former Houston station group.

Now, Mason Benitez has taken a leadership role at a group of Lone Star stations owned and operated by Townsquare Media.

Benitez will now serve as Market President and Chief Revenue Officer for the local audio media and digital sales solution company’s Victoria, Texas operations.

The radio assets include four FMs: Country KIXS, CHR KQVT, Classic Rock
KLUB, and “Jack FM”-branded Adult Hits KTXN.

Benitez reports to Townsquare Regional Vice President Kelly Quinn, who calls Benitez “an exceptional leader in the local media business with a contagious enthusiasm.”

She continued, “His radio and digital experience, along with his focus on our ‘Local First’ strategy will be a huge benefit to our local clients and team in Victoria.”

Benitez added, “When I learned about Townsquare’s game plan and ‘Local First’ strategy
from our CEO Bill Wilson I was completely bought in. I look forward to helping our local clients in the Victoria market, and I can’t wait to roll up my sleeves and get to work with the new team!”

Townsquare COO of Local Media Erik Hellum considers Benitez “a rising star in our business, with a real passion for building great teams and helping clients grow their business, and I couldn’t be happier that he will be leading our talented Townsquare Victoria team.”

CBS Radio was Benitez’s first radio industry role of note, and joined the stations after serving as a realtor for Better Homes & Gardens in Houston. He holds a degree in hotel, motel and restaurant management from the University of Houston.
