NBC’s Matt Lauer scored the initial foray onto the airwaves as President George W. Bush returns to the limelight to promote his new book “Decision Points.” But Lauer is just the first of many stops on an itinerary that includes both radio and television.

According to a New York Times report, NBC won the first interview in a close decision with other networks pitching for the honor, and Lauer’s non-confrontational style, combined with journalistic bona fides that include a high-profile 1998 chat with Hillary Clinton.

Also on the tour are television’s Oprah Winfrey and radio’s Rush Limbaugh. FNC’s Sean Hannity will talk with President Bush on radio and television, and Bush will also appear on Fox News Channel programs hosted by Greta Van Susteren and Bill O’Reilly. Other stops will include CNN, the CBS Sunday morning program, Fox & Friends and NBC’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
