Up against significant competition from NBA basketball on cable last night, the AMERICAN IDOL Top 13 Results Show and an original BONES combined to give FOX its fourth straight nightly win this week among Adults 18-49.
FOX also dominated the night in Total Viewers, Adults 18-34 Teens and all key demos and outperformed the next highest rated network last night (CBS) by +61% in Adults 18-49 and +26% in Total Viewers.
At 8pm, AMERICAN IDOL posted 6.5/19 and drew 21.7 million total viewers — retaining +96% in the adult demo and up +6% in Total Viewers versus the comparable telecast last year (Top 12 results show on 3/17/10)
In the 8p hour AMERICAN IDOL outperformed the combined 4-net competition by +2% in A18-49 (6.5 vs. 6.4) and +9% in Total Viewers (21.7 vs. 19.9 Mil.)
This week, AMERICAN IDOL Wed/Thu is virtually on par with the same Tue/Wed week last year (3/16-3/17/10) in A18-49 (7.5 vs. 7.7) and gained +6% in Total Viewers (23.5 vs. 22.1 Mil.)

BONES delivered a 3.4/10 last night, up +3% from its last original on 2/17/11. BONES was also up +10% in Total Viewers from its last original (10.9 vs. 9.9 Mil.)
BONES won the 9p hour among A18-49, A18-34 and Teens and was the second highest rated program of the night in A18-34 behind only AMERICAN IDOL. In head to head competition in the 9p hour, BONES bested CSI by +10% (3.4 vs. 3.1).
Competition
ABC aired a two-hour repeat of Wipeout (1.8/5) followed by a Grey’s Anatomy repeat (1.2/3) at 10p.
On CBS, The Big Bang Theory (3.8/11, flat), Rules of Engagement (2.8/8, up +17%), CSI (3.1/9, up +15%), and The Mentalist (3.0/9, up +7%) were in line with their recent performances.
NBC ran repeats of Community (1.0/3), Perfect Couples (0.8/2), The Office (1.4/4), Parks & Recreation (1.1/3), 30 Rock (1.1/3) and Outsourced (0.9/3).
